IAC GIRLS SOCCER: NEWARK VALLEY DULLS 'THE POINT' IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE (2021-10-12)

Tioga County Sports Report
NEWARK VALLEY — Nine different players either scored goals or dished out assists — or both — as Newark Valley rolled to an 8-0 IAC girls soccer shutout of Whitney Point here Tuesday.

Emma Miller fell into the "both" category, registering two goals and three assists for the Cardinals.

Anna-Leona Kalin and Hayley Beebe notched two goals apiece while Molly McCloskey and Jadyn Vanzile tallied one goal each.

Clara McCloskey, Mackenzie Day, Aubrey Kwiatkowski and Adrianna Finta doled out one assist apiece.

"Emma scored with 30 minutes to play, being assisted by Mackenzie," NV coach Chuck Schneider said. "In the next 10 minutes Anna would pick up one, Hayley two from corners, and Emma once more with 20 minutes left in the first half, taking a pass from Clara.

"In the second, Anna scored directly off the corner kick with 27 minutes to play. Molly would follow up four minutes later, doing a give-and-go with Aubrey. Closing out the scoring was Jadyn, finishing a long pass from Adrianna with over 16 minutes left."

The Cardinals outshot Whitney Point, 22-1, and held a 12-0 advantage in corners.

Kathryn Simmons made one save for NV and Mckenzie Summa had 10 for the Golden eagles (0-12).

Newark Valley (9-4) now waits for the sectional seedings.
