SECTION IV FIELD HOCKEY: NEWARK VALLEY DROPS REGULAR SEASON FINALE TO WALTON (2021-10-12)

WALTON — Jaclyn Gransbury, Rachel Trimbell and Katelyn Brooks scored one goal apiece to lead Walton to a 3-1 victory over Newark Valley here Tuesday.

The Warriors scored one goal in each of the first two quarters while the Cardinals' Taylor Benjamin had an unassisted goal in the second period.

Walton added an insurance goal in the fourth quarter.

Gransbury also had an assist in the win and Chasidy Constable added an assist as well.

NV outshot Walton, 8-4, and held a 17-3 advantage in penalty corners.

Sandy Vaughn made one save in goal for the Cardinals and Emma Wood had seven for the Warriors.

Newark Valley ends the regular season with an 8-6 record an awaits the Section IV tournament seedings. Walton finished the season at 3-10.
