OWEGO — Owego scored a pair of first-half goals, then held off SVEC to post a 2-1 Section IV Division 3 field hockey victory here Tuesday night.

Lauren Gilbert accounted for the Indians' first score, punching a penalty corner shot into the cage with 9:12 remaining in the first quarter.

Jordan Greeno increased the advantage to 2-0 four minutes into the second period on a feed from Gilbert.

The Eagles erased the goose egg from the scoreboard when Taya Sousa scored at 8:02 of the third quarter. Rhiana Lawrence earned the assist.

Owego took 12 shots to SVEC's five and held a 9-0 advantage in penalty corners.

Mya Lunn made five saves in goal for the Indians and Bella Young collected 10 for SVEC.

Owego finished the season with a 4-9 record and SVEC ended with a 5-9 mark.
