Tioga County Sports Report
NEWARK VALLEY — SVEC chalked up its eighth consecutive victory Monday morning, rolling to a 10-0 IAC South Large School victory over Newark Valley here.

The Eagles built a 3-0 advantage at halftime.

Mason Holmes and Noah Banks registered a hat trick apiece, and they each contributed one assist.

Jacob Banks scored one goal and dished out two assists while Addison Young and Michael Connor chipped in with one goal each. Jayden Grube joined in on the effort by doling out a pair of assists.

SVEC's other tally was an own-goal by NV'c back-up goalkeeper.

The Eagles outshot NV, 22-3, and held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Aidan Swayze recorded two saves in goal for the visitors. Brandon Randell collected five saves and Brady Hill added one for the Cardinals.

Newark Valley, which has had to deal with player shortages on and off during the season, was able to have 13 players available. The Eagles, which had just 11 players at the game's onset due in part to COVID protocols, played the second half with 10 due to losing a player at the end of the first half due to two yellow card accumulations.

On Tuesday evening, the two teams close out the regular season (according to ScheduleGalaxy) with SVEC (9-3) visiting Watkins Glen and Newark Valley (4-4-2) traveling to Trumansburg.
