TIOGA COUNTY — Candor and Waverly are both in the hunt for divisional championships and highlight a relatively light day of action.
BOYS SOCCER
SVEC (8-3) at Newark Valley (4-3-2), 10 a.m.: The Eagles have won seven straight, including a 7-0 shut out of the Cardinals Oct. 2. In its last game SVEC downed Newfield despite not having any bench players while NV faded late in a loss to Waverly.
FIELD HOCKEY
Marathon at SVEC, 3:30 p.m.: The Eagles are coming off a loss to Whitney Point.
Newark Valley (8-4) at Whitney Point (11-0), 4:30 p.m.: The Cardinals, coming off a one-goal loss to Windsor, visit the Golden Eagles, who have returned to the top of Section IV's elite teams.
GIRLS SOCCER
SVEC at Elmira Notre Dame, 5:30 p.m.: The Eagles have been working through a return to the pitch after a two-year layoff while the Crusaders are preparing to play Waverly for the division championship.
VOLLEYBALL
Waverly (4-2) at Candor (9-1), 6:30 p.m.: The Indians are coming off a huge win against Tioga and are tied for the IAC South Small School division lead while the Wolverines are caught in a 3-way battle for the IAC South Large School division title.
