IAC VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR MOVES TO 9-1 WITH SWEEP OF EDISON (2021-10-06)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS — Candor improved to 9-1 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of Edison in IAC volleyball action here Wednesday.

The Indians won three thrilling games by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-21 to extend their winning streak to seven matches.

Shelby Swartz registered 15 kills, seven points, four being aces, six digs and two blocks for the Indians while Brooke Wilcox dished out 20 assists to go with 12 digs. Isabel Makie had 12 points, five aces, four kills and four digs; Addie Aman added 12 points, seven aces and six digs; and Anna Greeno served five points.

Maren Lutz paced the Spartans (7-4, 5-4 IAC) five kills, 12 assists, five points, two aces and one block; Ashlyn Maggs chipped in with eight kills, three points, an ace and two digs; Jadyn Wood had four blocks, two aces and one assist; Amelia Fucito had four points and an ace; Emma Maggs tacked on three kills and one point; and Gabby Milazzo added an ace.

Candor hosts Tioga (10-0) Friday.

JV: Edison won by scores of 25-5 and 25-22.
