IAC GIRLS SOCCER: UNDERSTAFFED SVEC FALLS TO WAVERLY (2021-09-22)

WAVERLY — SVEC and Waverly played 10-on-10 in IAC South Large School girls soccer here Wednesday due to the Eagles being understaffed. The Wolverines proved to be too much, winning 8-0.

Lea VanAllen scored four goals to lead the charge, notching a hat trick before the midway point of the first half. She scored at the 35- 30- and 25-minute marks to give the home team a 3-0 advantage.

Kiley Stillman, Claire Clonch and Addison Westbrook contributed assists, respectively.

The Wolverines would add three quick goals late in the half.

Addison Westbrook found the back of the net with 12 minutes to, then Stillman scored with 11 minutes left — both goals being assisted on by Kennedy Westbrook.

Paige Robinson tallied at the 10-minute mark with Addison Westbrook picking up the assist to give Waverly a 6-0 halftime cushion.

With 27 minutes remaining in the second half, Kennedy Westbrook scored unassisted form 15 yards out.

VanAllen registered her final goal with eight minute left, scoring on a ricochet off a defender.

Waverly outshot SVEC, 23-0, and held a 12-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Kara Morse collected 15 saves for the Eagles while Lea Cole had one for Waverly.

SVEC (0-4-1) hosts Union Springs / Port Byron Monday.
