SECTION IV VOLLEYBALL: CANDOR GOES 8-0 IN TIOGA TOURNEY POOL PLAY; FALLS IN SEMIS (2021-09-19)

TIOGA CENTER — Candor posted an 8-0 record in pool play at the annual Tioga Volleyball Tournament here Saturday, but was eliminated in the semifinal round.

Corning topped the Indians, 25-14, in the semis and went on to defeat Lansing in the championship game, 30-25.

Tioga was unbeaten in pool play as well, but fell to the Bobcats in the semis, 25-21.

In Court 2 pool play, Candor handled Dryden, 25-14 and 25-16, and bested Elmira, 25-10 and 25-19. The Indians topped both Oneonta and Lansing by 25-22 and 25-21 verdicts.

Lansing was 6-2 in pool play, followed by Oneonta and Elmira, both at 3-5, and Dryden (0-8).

Trailing Tioga in Court 1 pool play were Corning at 5-3, Trumansburg at 4-4, Chenango Valley at 2-6 and Union Springs at 1-7.

Candor returns to IAC action Monday at Newark Valley.
