IAC VOLLEYBALL: S-VE FALLS TO EDISON (2021-09-16)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS — After giving Candor a brief scare in its season opener before losing, Edison won its second consecutive IAC volleyball match here Thursday, defeating S-VE, 3-0.
The Spartans won by scores of 25-11, 25-18 and 25-15
Sophia Dutra posted four kills, a block and two digs for the Panthers, and CC Churey registered three aces, a kill and two digs.
Lyndsey Frye chipped in with six digs, while Ajsa Zakova had six assists and eight digs, and Marah Cooper added a kill and a dig.
Maren Lutz paced Edison with 10 assists, five kills, six points, including five aces, and a block, and Kayleigh Vanderhoff had nine assists and a kill.
Ashlyn Maggs had three aces and four kills, and Emma Maggs had four kills. Jadyn Wood contributed nine points, six aces, two kills, two assists and three blocks.
S-VE (1-2) hosts Watkins Glen Monday night.
JV: Edison won the match by a pair of 25-18 verdicts. The Spartans also took the exhibition set, 25-23.
Faith Brenchley had three kills, seven assists, seven digs and an ace; Makana Diboun added three kills, three aces and five digs; and Lilyanah Diboun tacked on five digs and three aces for S-VE.
