YOUTH WRESTLING: FORMER SVEC STANDOUT HEADING TO NATIONALS (2021-07-16)

FARGO, N.D. — Former SVEC wrestling standout Ousmane Duncanson, who will be competing for defending state champion Tioga this season, will join five other Tigers at the USA Wrestling U.S. Marine Crops Junior and 16-under National Championships here.

Tioga's other representatives are defending state champion Gianni Silvestri, state placers Caden Bellis and Mason Welch, state qualifier Donavan Smith, and Levi Bellis.

The group will be competing for the Southern Tier, which will be coached by Tioga's Kris Harrington and recently retired Chenango Forks coach Rick Gumble.

Also qualifying from the Southern Tier are Bainbridge-Guilford/Harpursville/Afton's Darren Florence, Corning's Charles Loucks, Forks' Logan Gumble and Tyler Ferrara, Horseheads' Zach Levey, and Windsor's Gabe Monroe.

Wrestlers will compete in men's and women's freestyle, and Greco-Roman. The Junior tournament is open to wrestlers 18-and-under.

The event begins Saturday at the Fargodome and runs through July 24.
