OWEGO — Owego (Gregory) scored five runs in the top of the first inning, then turned back Maine-Endwell down the stretch to capture its third straight Owego Little League 10U Tournament championship here Wednesday.

Ben Harvey, Jeremiah Wheeler and Rocco Canfield delivered consecutive singles, Dylan Gregory drew a walk, Lincoln Miller was hit by a pitch, with Wheeler's and Canfield's hits coming with RBIs attached. Colby Cordero drove in a run and Truett Hall plated two runs with those three runs coming on fielder's choices.

M-E took advantage of an error to make it 5-1 after an inning.

Wheeler would bring in another run on a sacrifice fly in the second, scoring Devon Brace, who had drawn a base on balls.

A walk and two errors preceded M-E's ground out RBI in the fourth, then a two-run single cut the lead to 6-4.

Owego would push a run across in the fourth and score another in the fifth to build an 8-4 advantage.

Hall led off the fourth with a base hit and scored on Landon Boccasini's one-out single.

Camden Thole opened the fifth with a walk and scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of Miller.

Maine-Endwell grouped a double and three singles together to trim the difference to 8-6 in the fifth, but Owego was able to close out the inning with a much-needed double play.

M-E managed a single in its final at-bats, but Gregory induced a trio of ground ball outs to secure the victory.

Gregory went the distance, striking out three, walking two and surrendering seven hits. He allowed just two earned runs. At the plate, he contributed a hit and a run.
