OWEGO — Johnson City scored 12 runs in the second and third innings to defeat Owego (Morales), 13-3, in Owego Little League 12U Tournament pool play action here Thursday.
JC rode a double, three singles, two walks and an error to a 7-0 advantage in the bottom of the second, then tacked on five more in the third via four singles and four walks.
Owego scored all its runs in the fourth. Cayden Adams, Cayden Smith and Dylan Brace smacked consecutive single to start the inning. Adams would steal home, then Sam Buchsbaum walked to reload the bases before an out was even registered.
Eric Schrader would draw a base on balls before the second out was recorded, brining Smith home, but the JC pitcher would retire the side.
Adams went 2-for-3 to lead Owego at the plate. Schrader was 1-for-1, and Smith Brace and Caden Morrow would all go 1-for-2.
JC finished with 11 hits and six walks, and only seven of its runs were earned
