YOUTH BASEBALL (10U): OWEGO (SCHRADER) OPENS OWEGO TOURNEY WITH TWO WINS (2021-06-30)

OWEGO — Owego (Schrader) opened 10C pool play action at the Owego Little League 10U Tournament here with two victories.

The team defeated Union-Endicott (Denman), 15-12, Saturday, then bested Vestal (Bertoni) Monday, 15-6.

At 2-0, Owego is the only unbeaten, untied team in the pool at this point. Nichols-Tioga (Fisher) is 2-0-1 and Maine-Endwell (Chudacik) is 1-0-1 after the two tied Monday, 0-0, when their game was called due to inclement weather.

A tournament official noted that any tie game called due to weather will result in a tie.

Other teams in the pool include Johnson City (Greenberg) and Vestal (Tokos), both 1-1; Vestal (Bertoni) at 0-1; and Union-Endicott (Denman) and Maine-Endwell (Cook), both 0-2.

Owego plays Vestal (Tokos) at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
