Tioga County Sports Report
OWEGO — Candor (Rose) opened the Owego Little League 12U Tournament with a 14-7 victory over Union-Endicott (Longo) here Monday.

Candor pumped out eight runs in the bottom of the first inning, which would be enough to secure the win.

Teagan Kwiatkowski's bases-loaded double highlighted the early onslaught, which included walks and runs by Donny Mackie, Mason Rose, Cooper Dember, Wyatt Anderson, Hunter Cody, Jak Smith and Owen Beach. Brody Ahart reached on an error and scored as well.

U-E would close the gap to 8-6 in the top of the second, but Candor picked up another run in its half of the inning on Ahart's inside-the-park home run.

Candor would follow that up with a five-run third.

With two down and after Cody walked and scored on a wild pitch, Beach singled, Kwiatkowski reached on an error and Mackie singled to plate Beach. Rose smacked a three-run inside-the-park homer to give Candor a 14-6 cushion.

Mackie, Rose, Ahart, Anderson, Beach and Kwiatkowski paced Candor with one hit each. Rose and Kwiatkowski drove in three runs apiece while Mackie, Rose, Ahart, Cody and Beach scored two runs each.
