OWEGO — Owego (Card) split a pair of games on opening weekend of the Owego Little League 12U Tournament, falling to Nichols-Tioga (Bombard), 14-7, Saturday and rebounding with a 12-9 win over Union-Endicott (Longo) Sunday.
NTLL started out with a 14-8 win over Owego (Card) Saturday, then added a 12-7 triumph against Union-Endicott (Hamilton Jones) Sunday.

Ahead, 5-2, NTLL busted out with a nine-run third inning.
Christian Crawn began the surge with a two-run double, then an error following Jackson Bombard's two-run double allowed another run to score. Brendan Clark's double made it a 14-2 contest.
Owego fought back with five runs in the bottom of the inning to make it 14-7, but was only able to pick up one more run as the time limit ran out in the fourth.
With one away in the fifth, Brenden Whigham and Elijah Wheeler walked, Jackson Barrows singled in a run, Nolan Card tripled in two runs, then scored on a wild pitch. Walks to Ryan Diedrich, Everett Wagner and Mason Henderson loaded the bases and Trace Hall was hit by a pitch to make it 14-7.
Wheeler walked and scored on a Wyatt Niles. triple in the fourth.
Owego's initial runs of the contest came in the second after Wheeler and Barrows singled, and Wyatt N., Everett W. and Mason H. walked.
NTLL finished with 13 hits. Barrows had two hits for Owego while Hall, Wheeler, Niles and Card added one apiece.
Owego 12, U-E 9
Owego took the lead with a six-run second inning. A triple by Card and double by Niles highlighted the surge. Wagner, Hall and Whigham added singles, and Henderson and Evan Canfield walked.
Leading, 9-7, Hall led off the bottom of the fourth with an inside-the-park home run. A walk by Canfield, double from Wheeler and two-run single by Barrows pushed the lead to 12-7 heading into the fifth.
Down, 4-0, a triple by Wheeler and double from Card sparked a three-run first inning for Owego.
Hall finished with two hits, two runs and two RBI; Wheeler had two hits and two runs; Card contributed two hits and two RBI; Whigham had a hit, two runs and two RBI; Barrows and Niles added a hit, run and two RBI apiece; Wagner chipped in with a hit and run; Canfield scored twice and Henderson added a run.
