NEWARK VALLEY — Emma Clark has been a key contributor in field hockey at Newark Valley during her high school career, but she also plays ice hockey with the Syracuse Valley Eagles club team.
She will compete in both at the collegiate level, having signed a National Letter of Intent here Friday to attend King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Clark was part of the Cardinals' Section IV Division 3 championship team in 2019 and with Syracuse Valley, she skates at the highly competitive AAA Tier 1 level.
She picked King's "because I have the opportunity to learn in a small class size and play the two sports I love, while staying close to home."
Clark feels she can offer a positive contribution to both sports.
"I think I bring a lot of hard work and dedication to both teams to add on to the team dynamic," she said.
Clark, who plans on studying Exercise Science, likes what the college has to offer student athletes.
"At King's I feel like every student has the ability to excel academically and athletically due to the staff environment," she said. "I hope to improve my skillset academically and athletically throughout my years at King's."
