IAC BOYS GOLF: BANKS, BROCK LEAD SVEC TO VICTORY OVER T-BURG (2021-05-11)

CANDOR — Jacob Banks registered six pars and Taylor Brock birdied the first hole to lead SVEC to a 182-224 IAC boys golf victory over Trumansburg at Catatonk Creek Golf Club here Tuesday.

Banks would win his third consecutive medalist honor with a 3-over-par 39 on Catatonk's front nine.

Brock, medalist in the Eagles' first two matches of the season, carded a 42.

Nathan Gillette became the third SVEC sophomore to break 50 on the day, scoring a 49.

Eighth-grader Tyler Greeno rounded out the team scoring with a52.

Noah Banks, also an 8th-grader, and senior newcomer Joey Marsh shot non-scoring rounds of 53 and 55, respectively.

T-burg was led by Owen Leiter with a 47. Lucas Hunter shot 52, Quin Demarest added a 62, and Jack Linskens wrapped up the Raiders' team scoring with a 64.

Taylor Hennessey added a non-scoring 70.

SVEC (5-0) visits Waverly Thursday.
