IAC SOFTBALL: S-VE BLANKS ODESSA-MONTOUR IN 5 (2021-05-10)

SPENCER — S-VE's Rhiana Lawrence and Katelyn Klym belted three-run home runs while Lawrence and Sydney Presher held Odessa-Montour without a hit in a 15-0, five-inning IAC victory here Monday.
Lawrence started in the circle and registered five strikeouts while giving up a walk to O-M's Annaleise Beckley. Sydney Presher spelled her in the fourth, struck out two and issued a walk to Mackenzie Cannon.
With her bat, Lawrence gave the Panthers a 5-0 lead with her second-inning shot. Klym's homer pushed the advantage to 10-0 in the third.
Reagan Sudnikovich and Christina Beebe added RBI triples as S-VE improved to 4-0 on the season.
Faith Brenchley, who went 2-for-2 with four runs and two walks, scored the only run the Panthers would need in the bottom of the first.
Gillian Jackman walked to start the S-VE half of the second and scored on Taya Sousa's base hit. Katelyn Klym followed with a single, then Lawrence delivered her dinger. Brenchley, Christina Beebe and Hannah Martinez added singles with Martinez driving in a run for a 7-0 cushion.
Sydney Presher singled and Sousa walked to open the bottom of the third, the Klym connected for her homer. Brenchley walked, Beebe smacked an RBI triple and Martinez added an RBI single, pushing the lead to 12-0.
In the fifth, Brenchley walked and Sudnikovich brought her home with a three-bagger. After Sudnikovich stole home, Martinez singled and stole home as well to end the game.
The Panthers pounded out 16 hits, including three each Beebe and Martinez. Brenchley, Presher, Sousa and Klym chipped in with two hits apiece.
S-VE (4-0) heads to Tioga (2-2) Tuesday.
