SECTION IV FIELD HOCKEY: OWEGO ENDS SEASON WITH 11-0 ROMP OVER TIOGA (2021-04-17)

Tioga County Sports Report OWEGO — The Owego field hockey team closed out the season in impressive fashion here Saturday, rolling to an 11-0 Section IV Division 3 victory over Tioga — not to mention notching its third win in three days.

Sydney Taylor closed out her high school career with a four-goal effort for the Indians, including the only one they would need. Cheyanne Rummel would pick up the assist on the game's initial goal.

Jill Baumbach put a way the first of her two goals, unassisted, to give Owego a 2-1 lead after one period of play.

Megan Evans made it 3-0 with an assist going to the team's top goal scorer, Jordan Greeno.

Taylor and Greeno would then exchange favors, scoring the fourth and fifth goals, respectively, with each player assisting the other.

Next up was Taylor goal No. 3, giving Owego a 6-0 cushion.

Baumbach would score her second goal of the day, this one also unassisted, and Autumn Hankey followed with an unassisted score to push the lead to 8-0.

Taylor's final goal of the day came next with Greeno picking up her third assist of the afternoon.

Alyssa Bryant pushed the advantage to 10-0 with an assist going to Makayla Allen.

Lauren Gilbert closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal.

The Indians finished the game with 17 penalty corners while Mya Lunn made two saves in goal.

Owego finishes the season with a 6-3 record.
