STAC GIRLS SOCCER: OWEGO SHUTS OUT SETON CATHOLIC (2021-04-15)

BINGHAMTON — Owego cranked up the heat in the second half to pick up a 3-0 STAC girls shutout victory over Seton Catholic Thursday evening.

Following a scoreless first half, Morgan Smith scored the game-winning goal on a corner kick from Sam Baker with 29:59 remaining. It was Baker's second corner assist in two games.

Less than 6 1/2 minutes later, at 23:39, Taylor Dalton made it 2-0 with the assist going to Jessalyn Corson.

Dalton tacked on her second goal of the evening at 15:57. Eighth-grader Bella Silvestri earned the assist, her first as a varsity player.

"We moved the ball well and maintained possession for most of the game," Owego coach Heather Chrysler said. "We had several scoring opportunities, but didn’t connect until the second half.

"We came out strong in the second half, determined to capitalize on the opportunities we created. Seton’s defense forced us to make adjustments and the girls did a great job of responding with some well-earned goals."
