(UPDATED) STAC GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING: OWEGO DOWNS GREENE TO CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON (2021-04-14)

OWEGO — Holly Kersten, Allison Shoen, Ashleigh Gault and Morgan Cote won two individual events apiece to lead the Owego girls swimming and diving team to a 65-41 STAC victory over Greene here Tuesday.

The Indians also swept all three relays, although they swam two as exhibition, and Kaelyn Katchuk remained undefeated in diving as Owego finished the regular season with a 5-2-1 record.

Katchuk scored 264.55 points, her best score this season.

Kersten captured the 200-yard freestyle (2:21.34) and 100 free (1:05.12).

Shoen won the 200 individual medley (2:57.37) and 500 free (6:45.2).

Gault took the 50 free (:27.68) and had the top time in the 100 breaststroke (1:22.19), but swam it as an exhibition entry.

Cote was victorious in the 100 butterfly (1:27.58) and 100 backstroke (1:24.29).

The 200 medley relay (2:25.07) included Shoen, Katchuk, Gault and Cote.

Competing in the 200 free relay (2:19.38) were Cote, Allison Welch, Madison Allen and Gault, who swam the relay as an exhibition.

In the 400 free relay (5:06.25), Allen, Katchuk, Shoen and Kersten swam exhibition also.

The Indians' runners-up were Allen in the 200 IM and 100 fly, Katchuk in the 100 free, and Welch in the 100 breast (exhibition).

Welch was also third in the 50 free.

The Indians await the Section IV Class B championships, tentatively scheduled for April 22-24 at Owego.
