COLLEGE SWIMMING: OWEGO GRAD SHOEN COMPETES IN FOUR EVENTS AGAINST OHIO UNIVERSITY (2021-03-09)

ATHENS, Ohio. — Owego grad and Eastern Michigan freshman Katie Shoen competed in two individual events and two relays against Ohio University here Saturday.

She placed fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:16.07 and was sixth in the 100 back, clocking 103.07.

Shoen teamed with Meike Staffeldt, Abbey Whipple and Riley Hofman to finish third in the 200 free relay in 1:39.09.

She also joined Abbey Wenger, Hannah White and Whipple to take fourth in the 200 medley relay in 1:51.62.

Ohio won the meet, 191-108, to improve to 5-1. The Eagles slipped to 2-3 overall.

EMU visits Buffalo March 27 and hosts the MAC championships April 15-17.
