SPENCER — Spencer-Van Etten remained unbeaten with a 67-26 IAC victory over Edison here Monday.

The Panthers erupted for 24 second-quarter points to build a 41-19 halftime cushion. Jayden Grube and Matt Merrick scored 10 and nine points, respectively, in the period.

Merrick scored six of his game-high 18 points in the first quarter and Marcus Brock added six more on a pair of 3-pointers to give S-VE a 17-8 first-period lead.

Tyler Doster contributed six points in the third and Logan Jewell scored seven in the final frame.

The Panthers held Edison to seven second-half points.

In addition to Merrick's double-digit effort, Grube recorded 14 points and Brock added 10. Jewell contributed nine points, Doster had eight, Byrne had six and Dominic Grier tacked on two. Brock, Byrne, Grube and Merrick canned two treys apiece as S-VE improved to 4-0.

The Panthers head to Notre Dame Tuesday.
