SPENCER — Spencer-Van Etten rode a pair of 14-point quarters to its first victory of the season here Tuesday, defeating Odessa-Montour, 44-33, in IAC JV action.

Erica Coville put up six of her game-high 14 points as the Panthers outscored O-M, 14-7, in the fourth quarter.

Coville had four points in each of the first two periods as S-VE surged to a 16-13 halftime advantage. Raegan Sudnicovich contributed four points in the second quarter.

Marah Cooper and Gabby Evans tallied five points apiece, including one 3-pointer apiece as the Panthers edged out the Indians, 14-13, in the third quarter to take a 30-26 lead into the final frame.

Cooper added seven points to the S-VE win and Evans chipped in with five more. Sudnicovich, Faith Brenchley and Aubrie Kastenhuber contributed four points apiece, and Jackie Brown, Adriena Farmer and Taya Sousa had two points each.

Tori Brewster and Gina Gavich led O-M with nine points apiece.

Spencer improved to 1-1 while the Indians slipped to 2-1.

S-VE's game at O-M Thursday was canceled due to the weather. The Panthers will host Elmira Saturday at 4 p.m.
