Tioga County Sports Report
ELMIRA HEIGHTS — Six players hit for double digits as Owego rolled past Edison, 92-28, in IAC action here Monday.

Mason Rieg led the charge, putting up 16 points as the Indians improved to 3-0. He scored half his points in the first quarter as Owego jumped out to a 27-6 lead.

Drew Tavelli connected for 14 points, nailing down a trio of baskets in the final period.

Brad Palmer contributed three buckets in the opening frame and finished the night with a dozen points.

Nick Wasyln accounted for 11 points while Joe Bangel and Hunter Ellis added 10 apiece.

John Bangel scored nine points, Kaden Wheeland drained a 3-pointer, Ryan Pryor converted a 3-point play and Leo Rodriguez added a field goal in the second quarter.

Owego built a 49-12 cushion at intermission and led 71-24 heading into the final frame.

Indian coach Chris Evans said it was a good experience for everyone to play.

"We were very unselfish and our level of play at both ends never got ragged or ugly — which is easy to do in a game like this," he said.

Jeremiah Parker paced the Spartans (0-3) for the third straight game, scoring nine points.

The Indians visit Newark Valley (0-1) Saturday at 11 a.m.
