STAC BOWLING: OWEGO BOYS CLOSE SEASON WITH SWEEP, FINISH 43-2 (2021-02-16)

BINGHAMTON — Tyler Taft nailed 200 right on the head — three times — to lead STAC Division 3 leader Owego to a 5-0 shutout of second-place Chenango Valley at Sunset Lanes here Monday.

CV took the girls match, 5-0.

BOYS
Taft's 600 series was bolstered by a 224 and 202 from Chris Cornell, who rolled a 584 series, a 221-558 from Nate Travis and a 200-539 by Cole Dalton.

Marshall Burrell bowled one game, scoring a 196, and William Waldron had a 176 among his two games.

The Indians won by more than 500 pins, taking thew total pinfall, 2794-2269. They claimed the opening game, 965-766, took game two by a 864-803 verdict and captured the final game, 965-700.

The Warriors were paced by Parker Boorom with a 201-532.

Owego wrapped up the season with a 43-2 record while CV closed at 34-16.

GIRLS
Down a bowler, Owego lost by game scores of 581-445, 651-394 and 559-551. CV took the total pinfall, 1791-1390.

Haley Stephens led the Indians with a 160-444.

McKenzie Donnelly contributed a 129-319, Aubrey Garrison shot 156-315 and Elizabeth Reigle added a 127-312.

Erin Wales led CV with 159-459.

Owego ended the season with a 3-42 record while the Warriors finished up at 18-32.
