COLLEGE SWIMMING: OWEGO GRAD PHELPS NAMED TO SUNYAC MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING ALL-DECADE TEAM (2021-02-08)

GENESEO, N.Y. — Former Owego Free Academy and SUNY Geneseo standout Mitchell Phelps has been named to the State University of New York's Men’s Swimming & Diving All-Decade Team.

Phelps, the 2020 SUNYAC Swimmer of the Year, was one of five athletes to be recognized in three different events, being honored for his success in the freestyle, butterfly and backstroke.

He set a school record in the 400-yard medley relay in 2018, teaming with Kaz Sampson, Scott Guyton and Jeff Doser for a time of 3:22.54.

Phelps ranks second in the 100 fly (50.0 seconds, 2019) and the 800 free relay (6:51.17, 2019), and is No. 3 in the 200 fly (1:53.28, 2019), 200 medley relay (1:32.25, 2018) and 800 free relay (6:57.07, 2019).

He is also on the Knights' top 10 list in the 200 back (4th), 200 medley relay (4th, 6th), 200 individual medley (5th), 100 back (7th), 400 medley relay (7th) and 800 free relay (10th).
