COLLEGE SWIMMING: OWEGO GRAD SHOEN BETTERS TIME IN 200 FREE (2021-02-08)

ROCHESTER, Mich. — Owego grad Katie Shoen knocked close to six seconds off her previous time in the 200-yard freestyle in Eastern Michigan's 182-118 non-conference loss to Oakland Friday.

The freshman also competed in her ninth different event of the season.

Shoen placed sixth in the 200 free, her time of 2:05.22 bettering her previous best by 5.75 seconds. She was seventh in the 200 backstroke in 2:10.51.

The Eagles host the EMU Last Chance Meet Feb. 26-27.
