STAC BOYS SWIMMING & DIVING: GAULT, THEAL, SNYDER, KROM WIN MULTIPLE EVENTS AS OWEGO DROPS THRILLER TO WINDSOR (2021-01-22)

OWEGO — Adam Gault and Eric Theal were quadruple winners, Gabe Snyder collected three victories and Tyler Krom snagged a pair of wins as Owego dropped a 100-78 thriller to Windsor in in STAC boys swimming and diving action here Friday evening.

The quartet teamed up to capture the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays, posting times of 1:45.18 and 4:05.31, respectively.

Gault, who had already posted four wins coming into the Indians' third meet of the season, picked up his other two victories in the 100 free in 55.29 seconds, and in the 200 free with a time of 2:05.03.

Theal took the 200 individual medley, clocking 2:31.84, and the 100 butterfly with a 1:13.46.

Snyder posted his first win in diving, scoring 176.25 points, more than 20 points higher than his previous best this season.

The Indians' runners-up were Theal in the 500 free (6:40.49) and Kyle Riegel in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.73), and the 200 medley relay. Riegel, Jacob Krassin, Christian Hodges and Sam Nowetner posted a time of 2:26.6 in the relay.

Taking third for Owego were Hodges in the 200 free (2:18.71), Krassin in the 100 backstroke (1:30.93), and Krom in the 100 breast (1:25.8).

Owego visits Oneonta Thursday and hosts Norwich Friday. The meet begins at 5:30 p.m. and the home meet can be followed live on the Twitter feed @OFAAthletics1.

NOTE: The Indians have three modified members who swim exhibition at the meets — Magavin Allen, Vincent Kneller and Carson Morris. Allen posted the fastest time (1:20.22) in the 100 back.
