IAC BOWLING: NEWARK VALLEY BOYS DOWN O-M, 3-1 (2021-01-15)

Tioga County Sports Report
NEWARK VALLEY / WATKINS GLEN — Vincent Peck carried a 540 series to lead the Newark Valley boys to their first win of the young season Thursday, defeating Odessa-Montour, 3-1, in an IAC virtual match.

Meanwhile, in the girls match, with just two bowlers competing, the Cardinals fell to undefeated O-M, 4-0.

BOYS
Peck rolled a high of 189 in the final game and his series trailed only the 549 of the Indians' Dom Elliott.

Odessa would take game one, 746-690, but NV rallied to win the next two with scores of 742 and 727. That would lift the Cardinals to a 2159-2108 advantage in total pinfall and the win.

John Fiacco had a 158-453 for the Valley, Owen Sailus a 154-448, Schuyler Sophie a 140-367, and John Umiker rolled a pair of 120s en route to a 351.

O-M's Chris Seewald contributed a 403, Austin Hoyt had a 391 and Zach Rounds a 385, and Wes Wade a 365.

GIRLS
Unfortunately for NV, the Cardinals had just two bowlers. Lily Austin and Rosie Hines rolled high games of 166 and 163, respectively. Austin finished with a 458 series and Hines had a 374.

Jana Arias led O-M with a 455 series, while Courtney Davis scored a 395, Hanna Barr added a 387, and Sarah Barr had a 386.

The Indians posted a 1945 total pinfall to NV's 832. The Austin-Hines duo had games of 271, 250 and 311.
