OWEGO / ELMIRA — SVEC continued its strong start to the 2021 season Thursday, defeating Elmira Notre Dame in both the boys and girls events in another virtual match.

The Eagles' Mya Marsh was on fire, rolling a 663 series as the girls won, 3 1/2-1/2. She was just one pin shy of three 200 games, scoring 255, 209 and 199.

Kodi Floyd paced the boys, tagging the pins for a 235 and 202 en route to a 212 series.

GIRLS
The only thing preventing another Eagle sweep was the second game, in which each team rolled a 745. SVEC won the first, 729-591, and the third, 897-602, and took the total pinfall, 2371-1938.

Helping the victory was Kaitlyn Floyd with a 179-500. Olivia Bennett rolled a 183-471 and Janelle Marsh had a 167-411.

Elisa Hatton added a 125-320 and Julia Dunham had a 105-277.

The Crusaders were paced by Jillian Whittaker with a 199-428.

BOYS
Garrett Lindhorst joined Floyd in the double-200 category with a 201 and 200. He tallied a 531 series.

Joey Marsh posted a 199 on the way to a 541 series.

Will Zimmer contributed a 174-472, Lucas Heidl had a 160-434 and Matthew Fitch added a 160-420.

SVEC won the first game, 931-711, and the third, 910-842, and claimed the total pinfall, 2615-2345. The Crusaders took game two, 792-774.

ND was led by Connor Ryan with a 189-515.

SVEC faces Edison Tuesday in a virtual match.
