STAC BOWLING: OWEGO TEAMS SPLIT SEASON OPENER (2021-01-14)

OWEGO — Bolstered by five 200 games, the Owego boys opened the season here Wednesday with a 5-0 STAC victory over Chenango Forks in a virtual match Wednesday.

The Indian girls fell to Forks, 4-1.

BOYS
Marshall Burrell paced the Owego effort with a 578 series, which included a high game of 222 in the opening round.

Cole Dalton was right on his heels with a 577 series, highlighted by a 208 and 200.

Nate Travis posted games of 206 and 203 on the way to a 552 series.

Ty Taft scored a 191 in his second game and finished with a 530 series.

Chris Cornell bowled two games with a 189 high while Grayden Stanton had a 123 in his only game.

The Indians posted scores of 887, 951 and 871 to finish with a 2709 total pinfall.

GIRLS
Haley Stephens led the Indians with a 434 series. Her high game was a 164.

Elizabeth Reigle overcame early struggles to finish with a team-best 179 in her final game. She contributed a 381 series.

McKenzie Donnelly rolled a 132-330, Aubrey Garrison added a 105-287 and Victoria Reigle posted a 107-272.

Owego had scores of 559, 575 and 570 and a total pinfall of 1704.

The Indians are scheduled to visit Windsor Wednesday.
