HIGH SCHOOL: S-VE'S GRUBE NAMED TO TOP DRAWER 24 TEAM (2020-04-18)

SPENCER — S-VE three-sport athlete Paige Grube has been recognized as part of the Top Drawer 24 team presented by odessafile.com.

Grube, a senior who has participated in soccer, basketball, and track & field during her career, played guard for the Panther basketball team this past season.

She was an IAC South Small School second-team selection and an All-Tioga County second-team pick in basketball as a junior.

Grube will most likely miss out on two sports during her senior year at S-VE. She sat out the entire soccer season this past fall due to a knee injury. And now, due to Covid-19, she will most likely miss out on her final track & field campaign.

Waverly had three athletes named to the team. They are Brandon Clark for football, swimming and track & field; Sheridan Talada for cross country, and indoor and outdoor track; and Scott Woodring in basketball.

The Odessa File, which is based out of Odessa and primarily covers Schuyler County, has been honoring outstanding student-athlete-citizens since 2006 and typically holds a celebration honoring the recipients in Watkins Glen. However, due to the coronavirus, the celebration had to be canceled.
