HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BOWLING: WAVERLY'S VICTORIA HOUSEKNECHT HEADS UP ALL-TIOGA COUNTY TEAM (2020-03-17)

TIOGA COUNTY — Waverly's Victoria Houseknecht posted the third-highest average in the IAC this past season and is the 2019-20 All-Tioga County “Bowler of the Year.”

The freshman rolled a high game of 279 and 649 high series as the Wolverines finished second in IAC Division 1 regular-season action. She placed second at the IAC championships, leading Waverly to a runner-up showing. Houseknecht was also sixth in the Section IV Class C tournament and 13th at the Section IV state qualifier. She registered a 176 average.

The "Newcomer of the Year" is Kate Maine from Newark Valley. A senior, she registered a 149 average with a high game of 211 and a 576 high series. Her average ranked her 13th in the IAC. Maine also placed fourth at the IAC championships and 44th in the Section IV Class C tournament.

Aria French is the "Coach of the Year." In her first season at the helm of the Candor program, she led the lady Indians to the IAC Division 2 championship, and third-place showings in the IAC tournament and Section IV Class D championships. Candor took sixth at the Section IV Division 2 state qualifier.
