INDOOR TRACK & FIELD: McDONALD, CANTELLA LEAD OWEGO AT CLASS SECTIONALS (2019-01-17)

ITHACA — Owego's Jimmy McDonald and Gus Cantella garnered top 10 finishes at the Section IV Division I championships at Ithaca College Friday.

McDonald placed sixth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:52.37.

Cantella was seventh in the 55 dash, clocking 6.98 seconds. He also competed in the 300, where he was 12th in 41.38 seconds.

Dylan Pitcher placed 11th in the 1,000 run with a time of 3:08.72.

Gavin Bowers finished 12th in the 1600 in 5:35.1.

Maverick Pierce was 15th in the 600 with a 2:46.79

In the girls meet, Ella Rieg took 11th in the 1500 with a time of 6:20.27.

Alyssa Stephens placed 13th in the 1,000 in 4:04.25.

Lilly Bouton finished 14th in the 300 in 49.61 seconds and was 17th in the 55 in 8.47 seconds.

Next up is the Hurley Invitational Jan. 25 at SUNY Cortland.
