CANDOR — Candor threw down nine 3-pointers while holding Marathon to single digits in every quarter to roll to a 56-24 IAC Small School crossover win in JV action here Tuesday.
Zach Watson knocked down four of those treys, including three in a 14-8 second quarter surge which essentially iced the victory. He would finish the night with a game-high 14 points.
The Indians jumped in front, 14-5, after a quarter with Hunter Haynes scoring nine points.
Candor came out of the half with a 28-13 lead and put the game away with a 16-2 third-quarter run. Will Zimmer accounted for eight of the points.
Zimmer posted a double-double, scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. He also had five steals and two blocks.
Haynes finished with 11 points, eight assists and five steals; Jackson Jennison had six points; Cooper Thayer contributed five points and five steals; Lucas Heidl had three points and five rebounds; David Vega dished out three assists; and Watson added two blocks.
Haynes, McBride, Liam Lang and Zimmer accounted for the Indians' other threes.
