NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley held the upper hand following an explosive first quarter, but Lansing would regroup to post a 61-52 IAC Large School crossover game here Tuesday evening.
The Cardinals put up 22 points in the first eight minutes to grab a 5-point lead and led, 29-28, at the break.
The Bobcats' Ben Vincent recorded eight of his team's 17 points in the third quarter, then Ethan Burt added 11 in the final frame.
Raidyn Ford had 12 of his team-high 15 points in the third quarter to keep it close.
Caden Bennett finished the night with 13 points and Donavin Beebe had 12, and the pair scored eight and six, respectively during NV's first-quarter burst.
Riley Malone and Andrew Obregon chipped in five points each for the Cardinals and Brenton Rosenberg added two.
Burt paced Lansing with 23 points, Vincent had 16 and Carson Crandall added 10.
The Cardinals (1-6) visit Dryden Friday.
