OWEGO — Defending Section IV Class B champion Owego swept through the pool play semifinals here Thursday, going 6-0 against Oneonta, Norwich and M-E.

The top-seeded Indians seemed to become more dominant as the night went on.

Owego defeated fourth-seeded Oneonta, 25-11 and 25-16.

After a break which saw No. 2 M-E and No. 3 Norwich split, the Indians downed Norwich, 25-13 and 25-9.

With a spot in Saturday's championship locked up, the Indians dominated M-E, 25-6 and 25-8.

Mackenzie Struble had a big evening for the home team, handing out 36 assists, serving up 14 aces and recording 12 kills. She also had seven digs and two blocks.

Sara Zepkowski contributed 14 kills, three blocks and two aces; Annika Kinney came up with 18 digs; Macey Gibson had 16 digs and two aces; Bianca DeVita had 12 digs; Camryn Kopalek added 11 digs, six kills, three aces and two assists; Emma Howe pitched in with 11 kills and a block; Taylor Aubel had eight kills and two digs; Haleigh Whatley had three kills and two blocks; Maddy Powell had three digs and two aces; and Mia Puglisi added a pair of kills.

The championship match begins at noon at Corning-Painted Post High School.
