TIOGA COUNTY — The Section IV Cross Country Championships and Section IV Volleyball pool play rounds share the spotlight today. The runners will start in the late morning and end about an hour before volleyball begins.

CROSS COUNTRY
Section IV championships at Chenango Valley State Park: Newark Valley, Owego, SVEC, Tioga and Waverly will be competing for individual and / or team spots at the state championships.

The schedule — 11 a.m. Boys Class D; 11:30 a.m., Girls Class C; Noon, Girls Class D; 12:30 p.m., Boys Class C; 1:30 p.m., Boys Class A; 1:55 p.m., Boys Class B; 2:20 p.m., Girls Class A; 2:50 p.m., Girls Class B.

VOLLEYBALL
Class B Pool Play at Owego, 4:15 p.m.: The defending champion and top-seeded Indians host M-E, Norwich and Oneonta.

Class D Pool Play at Candor, 4:15 p.m.: No. 1 Candor hosts defending state champion Bainbridge-Guilford, Tioga and Union Springs.

Class C Pool Play at Windsor, 4:15 p.m.: Waverly, Edison and Trumansburg will represent the IAC against the STAC runner-up Black Knights.
