OWEGO — The Section IV Class B Girls Swimming Preliminaries own the spotlight today and will again be held at Owego.

GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVING
Owego, Waverly at Section IV Class B Swimming Preliminaries at Owego, 4:30 p.m.: The Indians hold the top seeds in six events.

They include Emma Stephenson in the 200 freestyle, Jennifer Scott in the 100 butterfly, Katie Shoen in the 100 free and Ashleigh Gault in the 100 backstroke. Those four competitors are also seeded first in the 200 medley relay ands 200 free relay.

Shoen will not be swimming the 50 free as she previously met the state qualifying standard.

Waverly's highest seeds are Lourden Benjamin in the 200 individual medley, and the 200 medley and 200 free relays.

The top 16 individuals and top eight relays advance to the finals Saturday at Watkins Glen, which will also be the site of the diving championships Friday.
