IAC VOLLEYBALL: NEWARK VALLEY CLINCHES IAC SOUTH LARGE SCHOOL TITLE (2019-10-21)

ODESSA — Newark Valley swept Odessa-Montour, 3-0, in the regular season finale to clinch the IAC South Large School title Monday evening.

The Cardinals won by scores of 25-6, 25-15 and 25-20.

Emma Graves had a big night at the net, chalking up 19 kills and three blocks. She also contributed two digs and an ace.

Allie Wandell handed out 15 assists to go with six digs, three aces and two kills. Jordan Stiffarm had five aces, four digs and two assists; and Kayla Malarkey had two aces, an assist and a dig.

Gracie Gardner chipped in with two kills, a block and a dig; Leah Hartenstein had two digs and an ace; Libby Northrop had two aces; Chelsie Fuller had a kill and a dig; and Kate Mainer and Kimi Mertson added one dig apiece.

NV (12-4) plays for the IAC Large School championship Friday at TC3. The match begins 23 minutes after the conclusion of the Small School match, which starts at 5 p.m.

JV: NV swept, 2-0, and also won the exhibition third match. The scores were 25-21, 25-13 and 25-16.

Makana Gardner led the way with eight kills, four aces and two blocks. Jenna Hanson had five assists, four aces and a kill; Alannah Deer had three aces; Paige Little had two kills; and Hailey Moncalieri, Katie Greene and Hunter Williams added two aces and one kill apiece.
