IAC VOLLEYBALL: NEWARK VALLEY CLINCHES TIE FOR DIVISION TITLE (2019-10-18)

NEWARK VALLEY — Newark Valley swept Newfield, 3-0, Friday to clinch a tie for the IAC South Large School title.

The Cardinals won by scores of 25-10, 25-16 and 25-23 to improve to 11-4. Edison and Waverly are both 10-5 and all three teams have one match remaining Monday.

Jordan Stiffarm had eight aces, eight digs and two kills; Emma Graves posted six digs, five kills and four aces; Allie Wandell chipped in with six assists, four digs and three aces; Kayla Malarkey had eight assists and two digs; Leah Hartenstein had five kills and three digs; Kate Maine contributed nine digs and Chelsie Fuller added four kills.

Kayden Reed had five digs and two aces for Newfield and Maia Turner had three aces and two kills.

JV: NV won, 2-0. The scores were 25-9 and 25-11.

Makana Gardner had six kills, two aces and a block; Alannah Deer had four aces and two kills; Olivia Simms had three digs; Jenna Hanson contributed seven assists; and Paige Little and Ashley Moncalieri had two aces each.
