IAC / STAC MODIFIED CROSS COUNTRY: OWEGO'S KROHMALNEY LEADS TIOGA COUNTY RUNNERS AT BOB GREENE INVITE (22 PHOTOS) (2019-10-13)

Tioga County Sports Report
NEWARK VALLEY — Owegos' Kaden Krohmalney was the top Tioga County competitor in the modified races at the Bob Greene / Newark Valley Invitational here Friday. 

The eighth-grader crossed the finish line in sixth place in the Boys division, posting a time of 9:15.2 in the field of 207 competitors. He would lead the Indians to fourth place out of 20 scoring teams.

BOYS
All five of Owego's scoring runners would place in the top 35. Noah Heath was 23rd (9:40.7), Riley Loomis finished 29th (9:47.9), Jamey Harrison took 33rd (9:51.7) and Owen Bronk came in 35th (9:51.9).

James Wales paced Newark Valley with a time of 10:04.7, placing him 44th. Danny Pirger took 61st (10:26.7), John Turnbull was 71st (10:36.6), Michael Medina placed 84th (10:49.5) and Trevor Middendorf was 85th (10:49.7).

The Cardinals were 13th as a team with 333 points. Tully won the team title with 103 points, Vestal was the runner-up with 107 and Corning took third with 111. 

Nate Sinkovich from Montrose, Pennsylvania won the individual title with a time of 8:36.2.

Competing for Owego but not scoring were 39 38 1156 Chris Porter (39th, 9:59), Dominick Cheeseman (80th, 10:45.9), Nicholas Brown (90th, 10:58.9), Matthew Springsteen (117th, 11:29.5), Mathew Wood (118th, 11:32.8), Hunter Pitcher (169th, 12:43.3), Billy Huddleston (174th, 12:46.8) and Sam Cunningham (187th, 13:35). 

Non-scoring runners for NV included James Hackett (88th, 10:51.6), Darren Plagens (155th, 12:23.2), Bryce Dunn (185th, 13:27.6) and Josh Karp (192nd, 13:54.3).

GIRLS
Emma Dingman paced Newark Valley, finishing 31st in a field of 143 runners with a time of 10:59.2. Owego's Hailey Stephens placed 69th in 12:03.6 to lead the Indians.

The Cardinals' Addyson Osburn finished 39th (11:09), Harley Switzer took 52nd (11:27.7), Cassidy Downey finished 62nd (11:55.4) and Mikayla Lawrence was 81st (12:19.1).

For Owego, Abigail Luke was 82nd (12:28.3), Daisy Boyer placed 92nd (12:48.2), Nora Schuyler came in 96th (12:56.1) and Molly Hartjen finished 114th (13:26.5). 

Charli Bennett of Southern Cayuga won the race with a time of 9:35. 

Elmira won the team title with 68 points. NV took seventh out of 16 scoring teams with 224 and the Indians were 16th with 362.

NV's non-scoring runners included Elizabeth Waterman (87th, 12:45.6), Bianca Milewski (98th, 12:57.9 ) and Emma Smith (113th, 13:26.5 ).

Owego had one non-scorer in Ealanor Palmer (126th, 14:04.4).
