VESTAL — Owego won eight of 12 events, but Vestal claimed three top-five finishes in 10 races to hand the Indians their first defeat of the season Friday, 107 1/2-77 1/2.

Jennifer Scott and Katie Shoen were quadruple winners for the Indians. 

Scott won the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.82 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 1:06.57 while Shoen captured the 200 individual medley in 2:20.27 and the 100 backstroke with a 1:03.85.

The duo teamed with Ashleigh Gault and Emma Stephenson to win the 200 medley relay (1:59.21) and the 200 free relay (1:48.79).

Gault added an individual win in the 100 free (57.39).

Owego's Kaelyn Katchuk won the diving competition with a score of 192.55 points.

Runners-up were Stephenson in the 200 free and Gault in the 100 back.

Placing third were Lily Harbol in diving, Stephenson in the 500 free, Carly Kirtland in the 100 breaststroke, and the 200 free relay of Emma Pawlak, Holly Kersten, Allison Shoen and Leah Watson.

Owego (2-1) hosts M-E (2-1) Friday at 4:30 p.m.
