SPENCER — SVEC defeated Owego, 2-1, for the second time this week Friday. The Panthers won by the same score in Owego Monday.

Cora Sousa, who had an assist in the earlier meeting, put away the first goal in this game off a  save with 12:01 left in the first half.

SVEC would extend its advantage to 2-0 at 23:40 of the second half on a Ryleigh Clark tally.

Not long after, the Indians would cut the lead to 2-1 on a Lauren Gilbert shot off a penalty corner at 20:41.

The Eagles took eight shots to three for Owego and held a 3-1 edge in corners.

Sarah Haskell made six saves for the Indians and Bella Young had three for the Eagles.

SVEC (3-3) visits Tioga (1-7) while Owego (1-7) heads to Newark Valley (4-1) Tuesday.
