COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY: NV GRAD STEWART RAKING IN HONORS AT DELHI (2019-09-20)

DELHI, N.Y. — One day after receiving North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week honors for a second time, Delhi freshman and Newark Valley grad Sophie Stewart was awarded USCAA Runner of the Week for her performance at the 5K SUNY Oneonta Airfield Invitational.

Stewart placed third in the 48-runner field with a time of 19:50.3, less than one minute off the pace. She was the first of five Broncos that took the top 18 as the team finished third with 59 points.

She earned the NAC's top rookie honor for her Oneonta performance and for her first-place finish at Hartwick in the season opener, leading the Broncos to a 22-34 dual meet victory.

The next competition for Delhi is at the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational on Sept. 28.
