OWEGO — SVEC scored a pair of first-half goals, then held off Owego to post a 2-1 victory here Monday evening.

The Eagles picked up their initial goal in the game's early minutes as Jaylene Noviello scored on an assist from Taya Sousa at 27:14.

Taya Sousa would tally the game-winning goal on an assist for Cora Sousa with 4:18 remaining in the half.

The Indians would find the back of the cage with 5:23 left in the game on Jillian Rollison goal.

In collecting their second straight win, the Eagles (2-3) held a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal and a 3-1 edge in penalty corners. 

Sarah Haskell registered another solid game in goal, making 10 saves for Owego (1-5). SVEC's Bella Young had three saves.

SVEC hosts Moravia Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.while Owego will get another crack at the Eagles Friday in Spencer at 4:30 p.m.
