IAC BOYS SOCCER: SVEC SCORES EARLY, OFTEN TO ROUT NOTRE DAME (2019-09-12)

CANDOR — Lance Jensen scored two goals and handed out  a pair of assists, and Daniel Thomas added two goals to lead SVEC to an 8-1 IAC South large School romp over Elmira Notre Dame here Thursday.

The Eagles bolted out to a 6-0 halftime cushion and never looked  back.  

SVEC outshot Notre Dame, 9-2, in the first half and held a 2-0 edge in corner kicks. The Eagles would finish with 19 shots to the Crusaders' three and registered a 13-1 advantage in corners.

Jacob Banks and Mason Holmes added one goal and one assist apiece to the win, and Jayden Grube pitched in with one goal.

SVEC also collected a goal on a Crusader own goal.

ND picked up one goal when Patrick Finnerty converted a second-half penalty kick.

Matthew Suttmeier and Aiden Swayze split time in goal for the Eagles with Suttmeier grabbing two saves.

Cody Gonzalez and Finnerty made four and two saves, respectively, for ND.

SVEC visits Newark Valley on Tuesday.
