Tioga County Sports Report
OWEGO — Emma Stephenson and Jennifer Scott won four events apiece to lead Owego to a 97- 74 STAC victory over U-E here Wednesday.

The duo teamed with Ashleigh Gault and Emma French to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:00.86, and with Katie Shoen and Gault to capture the 200 free relay in 1:46.56.

The free relay victory clinched the meet for the Indians, who swam exhibition during the final three events — and would have added three more wins based on times.

Along with Gault, Owego's other double winners were French and Shoen. French added a victory in  the 100 free with a time of 1:01.39 while Shoen won the 200 free in 2:05.88.

Runners-up were Lily Harbol in diving, Gault in the 50 free, Leah Watson in the 100 fly, Holly Kersten in the 500 free, and the 200 free relay of Watson, Allison Welch, Madison Holmes and Kersten.

Placing third for the Indians were Emma Pawlak in the 50 free and 100 free, Kersten in the 200 free, Ashley Allen in the 500 free, Holmes in diving, and the 200 medley relay of Shoen, Carly Kirtland, Allen and Holmes.

In the exhibition swims, Shoen clocked the fastest time in the 100 backstroke (1:03.88), Kirtland was quickest in the 100 breaststroke (1:28.47), and the 400 free relay of Shoen, Watson, Kersten and French logged a best time of 4:26.17. U-E picked up 32 points in those races.

Owego (2-0) visits Vestal on Sept. 20.
