Tioga County Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER — Olivia Ayres notched a hat trick and put Owego in a 3-0 hole to lead Tioga to a 4-2 victory here Tuesday.
Ayres broke a scoreless deadlock with 11:03 left in the first half and added her second goal with 9:24 remaining before intermission.
The lead would remain 2-0 until Ayres scored again with 19:35 left in the game.
Megan Evans would put the Indians on the board with 15:09 to go, then Shelby Retorto made it 4-1 on an Ayres assist at 11:33.
Cheyanne Rummel added another goal for the Indians with 1:49 on the clock.
Owego held a 16-7 advantage in penalty corners, but Tioga led in shots on goal, 17-11.
Sarah Haskell collected 13 saves for Owego and Kim Tarbox had nine for Tioga.
Owego hosts Moravia Thursday evening.
